Kyra Cane

Kyra has been a Harley Foundation Studio resident artist for over 20 years.  She is renowned for her exquisite Limoges Porcelain pots which act as canvases for her painterly monochromatic marks.  From monumental to miniature in scale, each of her pots is an expressive, individual artform, inspired by the vast British landscapes which have always been her muse.

“I love clay, I love pots and I love drawing, but it is in the quiet spaces of my studio at Welbeck where I bring these three passions together.”

Kyra’s work is highly regarded and can be found in prestigious collections.  Her commissions include pieces for the Royal Suite in the Dorchester Hotel, for the famous Shangri-La Hotel, and The Shard, London.

“It is extraordinary to be responsible for producing a finished object from beginning to end. The materials I use are of the highest quality: porcelain, stain, oxides, glaze. but the tools and equipment I use is strong and basic. With these I throw, turn, mark, colour, glaze and fire the pots I make.”
