Kyra Cane

Kyra Cane is a resident at the Harley Foundation Studios and teaches masterclasses in the Harley Pottery Studio. She is renowned for her fine porcelain pots featuring painterly monochromatic decorations which are drawn from the vast British landscapes which have always inspired her.

Her pots can be found in prestigious collections, and her commissions include pieces for the Royal Suite in the Dorchester Hotel, and pieces for the famous Shangri-La Hotel, and The Shard, London.

“It is extraordinary to be responsible for producing a finished object from beginning to end. The materials I use are of the highest quality: porcelain, stain, oxides, glaze. but the tools and equipment I use are strong and basic, throwing wheels, wires, scales, brushes, and kilns. With these I throw, turn, mark, colour, glaze and fire the pots I make.”
