Mark Langley
Mark Langley is based in Belper, Derbyshire. He has been regularly exhibited as part of the Harley Open, including the 2024 exhibition with his piece Staunton Harold Icy Reflecton. Mark’s prints and cards have become some of the most enjoyed and purchased pieces in our shop.
His meticulous, pointillist, and realistic style is inspired by rural life and landscape, particularly the countryside of the Peak District and surrounding area.
Mark studied graphic design, illustration and photography in Sheffield before commencing a career as a graphic artist. This training left its legacy on his practice, with a laser eye focus on how his images are composed and constructed.
“My work is underpinned by a carefully considered composition which keeps my drawings and paintings anchored in reality. I hope that this encourages viewers to explore my work up close to see how it was created, and in the process discover hidden details and experience the magic of colour interaction.”
