Trovelore is a women-run studio that strives to train and retain the art of hand embroidery and find new appreciative audiences for this highly skilled craft. Based in Arizona and Dheli, Trovelore is the brainchild of sister duo, Dhruti and Seema.
“Hand embroidery skills are fading fast; our mission is to preserve these skills for the future and believe by working with skilled artisans in Delhi, we are also democratising crafts by offering sustainable careers and collectables.”
Trovelore’s sculptural brooches are exquisite miniature works of art. Painstakingly handmade using over thirty materials, including metallic wires and threads, glass beads and sequins. These pieces are inspired by nature, from sea creatures, insects, to species from the animal world. Each piece is made with integrity and an emphasis on sustainability. “We only make to order in small batches at our dedicated studio in India. We believe if we waste less, we deserve more, and therefore choose to be slow, small, and unique.”
Trovelore also believes in giving back and works closely with a nonprofit school for children in Delhi. “We contribute to this great cause in a small way, with every product that we make and sell.”
