Wallace Sewell

Wallace Sewell was established by Harriet Wallace-Jones and Emma Sewell after they graduated from the Royal College of Art. They have worked together for over thirty years and continue to design in partnership.

New ideas are created on handlooms in their studios in London and Dorset. They are then woven industrially, at a family-run mill in Lancashire – fusing modern production with traditional techniques. After they are woven the scarves are then washed and pressed at a finisher in Huddersfield who draw soft and pure water from their own borehole.

Often inspired by paintings, Emma and Harriet are known for creating designs which combine a kaleidoscope of colours, unusual weaving structures, and the highest quality materials.

“We take pride in producing high quality products, which we hope will be loved and cherished for many years. Sustainability is very important for us, we only work with established yarn suppliers, who are working towards good ethical standards in their supply chains.”
