Join us to celebrate the launch of our new exhibitions Jennifer Vanderpool: Bread and Roses – Welbeck’s Untold Stories and Coal Mining Stories.
Visit on opening Saturday to dig deeper with our day of activities – including musical storytelling for under 5’s, and drinks and speeches with the artist.
American artist Jennifer Vanderpool has covered the galleries in immersive floor-to-ceiling collages exploring the social and cultural impact of mining on Nottinghamshire’s communities. Coal Mining Stories explores the connections between the Welbeck Estate and coal mining, from commemorative plates and pottery, to poetry and pencil sketches, you will discover work by former miners and members of the wider mining community.
