Harley Young Artists: Is this me? Portraits with Ruth Waller

For ages 11-16
15 February 2025

Spend an inspiring afternoon working with professional artist Ruth Waller and create a self-portrait using wire and found materials.

In this workshop, young people aged 11-16 will explore our current exhibition People’s Art, taking inspiration from the collaged mobile face made by Liaqat Rasul.

For centuries, art has helped people explore, express, and make sense of their identity. Using Rasul’s artwork as a springboard, Ruth will guide young artists in reflecting on themes of identity and social media. Through three-dimensional drawing, they will experiment with wire and found materials to craft self-portraits that tell their unique stories.

The Harley Young Artists series gives young people a chance to work with professional artists. It is an opportunity to develop skills and gain an insight into a range of creative careers.
