Make some time for yourself and stitch a pair of personalised trainers with textile artist Louise Presley.
Spend a relaxing day embellishing a pair of trainers using an array of antique and unusual materials. Louise will be on hand to guide you through the whole process, from selecting your fabrics to technical sewing tips. This workshop is an opportunity to think more deeply about how our clothes can make us feel and reflect who we are.
Basic materials and equipment will be provided, but you will need to bring a pair of soft trainers or canvas shoes to personalise. Unsure what shoes to bring? Check our guide.
There is an additional charge if you would like to use antique fabrics from Louise’s collection, which is charged during the session.
Suitable for those with some hand-sewing experience.
Please note, we recommend that you bring a packed lunch. Alternatively you can purchase lunch from Welbeck Farm Shop.
This workshop is part of Meet + Make, a series of public engagement events running alongside our contemporary exhibition Work Life: Life’s Work.
