Family Workshop: Needle Felted Creatures

For ages 10+
6 August 2025

Join us for a creative needle felting workshop for children aged 10+ and their parent or guardian.

In this session, children will invent their own animal – combining features like flippers, feathers, claws and manes to create a brand new creature. Using natural wool fibres from British sheep and alpacas, they will learn how to shape and sculpt their design through the process of needle felting.

Children can choose to work in 2D or 3D – ‘drawing with wool’ or building a small sculpture. No previous experience is needed, and all materials are provided.

Please tie back long hair and wear clothes you don’t mind getting fluffy!

Due to the use of barbed needles, this workshop is suitable for ages 10+ only. A parent or guardian must stay with their child at all times. Parents go free, but if they want to get involved and make their own needle felted creature, additional materials can be purchased as a £12 add-on.
