The Harley Pottery Studio in Nottinghamshire is a welcoming space that everyone can visit for pottery classes.

Whether you’re looking for beginner pottery classes with likeminded people, or you are an experienced potter looking for self-guided sessions to work on your own projects, our timetable will have something for you.

We regularly offer 6-week beginner’s courses, throwing and handbuilding taster sessions, and children’s pottery classes.

Visit by car

Our entrance is on the A60, 5 miles south of Worksop – look out for the brown signs for Welbeck.

Keep left as you enter the estate and park in the Pottery Studio parking bays, in the third layby on the right.

Public transport

Arriving by train? We suggest:

  • Mainline Trains (LNER) to Retford. Then for ease, book a taxi for onward travel. Try Hinchcliffe Taxis of Retford. Call 01777 702 049 to book.
  • East Midland Trains to Creswell. Creswell is on the Robin Hood Line and runs a service between Nottingham and Worksop. From Creswell Station, there is a 2 mile (45 minutes) walk through Creswell Crags’ picturesque limestone gorge. See the route in Google Maps here.

Access

Our building is wheelchair accessible.

The Harley Pottery Studio is on one level. Our accessible toilet is off the main reception area.

The Studio has dedicated disabled parking. Keep left at the fork as you enter the estate. Continue down the lane, taking the first right and then right again into the studio complex. You will see the Pottery Studio at the end of the first block of studios on your left. Disabled parking is directly outside the studio.
