Family Workshop: Paint a Pencil Pot

For ages 5+
30 October 2025

Join us for a creative ‘paint a pot’ session inspired by our Helen Oxenbury exhibition for children aged 5+ and their parent or guardian.

Based on the beloved illustrations of Helen Oxenbury, decorate a pen pot with adventures of your choosing. Bring out your inner watercolourist and blend our ceramic paints into scenes of beautiful landscapes, imaginary creatures, or even your birthday party!

Perhaps you’ve been on our Art Trail Adventure and want to record what you saw; perhaps you are feeling inspired by the autumnal scenes of the Welbeck estate: whatever your inspiration, enjoy a relaxing morning painting pottery immersed in our Wonderland-themed Creative Space.

Painted pots will be fired and ready for you to collect at a later date from the museum – ready for you to pop your pens and pencils in.
